HD is quite the big player, with over 130 companies under its umbrella. In the UK, some familiar names like Luxaflex, Thomas Sanderson, Hillarys, Blinds2Go, 247 Blinds, Apollo Blinds, Stevens (Scotland), Eclipse, and Faber are part of the HD family. These HD companies around the world source components from HD and use them to manufacture complete blinds.
Luxaflex Duette Blinds
Now, let’s talk about our preferred manufacturer, Luxaflex. We’ve been working exclusively with them for over 35 years. Initially, we chose Luxaflex because they manufactured in Scotland, but they later shifted production to Manchester and Birmingham. Unfortunately, right before Brexit, they moved all their manufacturing to mainland Europe. Even though we’re still one of Luxaflex’s biggest clients, our mentors and financial advisors have suggested that it would be wise to diversify our sources and support UK manufacturing where possible.
Masterblinds Duette Blinds
After an extensive search, we’re happy to introduce our alternative Duette shades manufacturer based in London—Masterblinds. They’ve been making blinds for over forty years and, like us, are a family business. They source all their components and fabrics from HD, ensuring the same high-quality standards. Operationally, all HD products work the same way, whether Tru-Fit, SmartCord or Motorised, regardless of who manufactures the product.
A Wide Fabric Choice
The only noticeable difference lies in the fabrics. HD produces an extensive range of materials, and to avoid excessive stockholding, each manufacturer selects their preferred colourways for their fabric collections. That’s the only distinction to keep in mind.
