It’s been a fantastic year.
First of all, we’d like to thank you, the people of Edinburgh and the surrounding areas for your overwhelming support and encouragement. We’ve had the opportunity of working with some amazing clients this past year.
Oh, and during the year we picked up another award – Best Plantation Shutter Installation in the UK -2019. As you can imagine – we were very proud to get this award. This award was judged by our peers in the industry.
While the Edinburgh showroom is just one year old, we’re not new to the window shading industry. We’ve been supplying and fitting Luxaflex blinds for over 32 years.
The new showroom has real working examples of Luxaflex PowerView Motorisation, Voice-Activated Blinds, Silhouette, Pirouette and Duette Blinds.

Meet The Window Shading Experts
Most Saturdays, you’ll find both Davids in the showroom – David Browne (Project Director) and David D’Ambrosio (Technical Director – and window shading motorisation wizard). Collectively, these guys know more about window shading, and specifically Luxaflex products, than anyone else in the UK.
If you’ve got a complex window shading requirement or you just need some advice then these are the guys to speak with. And they’re both very nice – as one is my Dad and the other is my Husband 😂.
How to Find The Scottish Shutter Company Edinburgh
Our Edinburgh Luxaflex showroom is at 67 Ratcliffe Terrace. EH9 1SU in the Newington/Grange area.
Travelling from the north of the City – we’re just half a mile (2-minute drive) south of The Meadows. Drive down Causewayside, which then leads into Ratcliffe Terrace.
We’re on the left just before the intersection of Ratcliffe Terrace, West Mayfield, Mayfield Road and Fountainhall Road.
Coming from the south, then take the A701 north at the Straiton Junction on the bypass. We’re just 10 minutes from the Straiton Junction.

Fully Insured Window Shading Professionals
It’s wise to check when purchasing anything to be fitted in your home that the company and or individuals carrying out the work hold sufficient insurance cover for your protection.
In our industry, many apparent company representatives are, in fact, self-employed. This means the installation element of the fitting becomes a separate contract between you and whoever is carrying out the work. They may or may not carry sufficient insurance cover.
At the Scottish Shutter Company Edinburgh, everyone you have contact with is a full-time employee of the Company – Rocknowe Interiors Ltd. Trading as The Scottish Shutter Company.
We have a £5 million cover for public liability (i.e. to you our customer).
Also, even though we do not directly make the products we sell, we still carry a £5 million product liability. As employers, we have £10 million of cover.
