A family business, built on trust
The Scottish Shutter Company was established in 1987 by June and David Browne with a simple idea: give people honest advice about their windows, do beautiful work, and stand behind it. That idea has guided everything we have done for 39 years.
David remains involved today as Project Director, overseeing design, marketing, and the technology that keeps our customers informed at every stage. But the day to day running of the business now sits with the next generation.
Daughter Judith D'Ambrosio leads the customer service operation with a personal touch that larger companies simply cannot match. When you call us, you speak to someone who knows your project, your preferences, and your timeline. That continuity matters, and Judith makes sure it happens.
Her husband David D'Ambrosio is our Technical Director and Immediate Past President of the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA). He brings deep industry expertise and sets the standard for every installation we deliver. Together, Judith and David run a tight, capable team that takes real pride in getting things right.
We are a family run business with nine people. Every surveyor, every fitter, and every member of our office team is employed by us directly. No subcontractors. No agency staff. The people who measure your windows are the same people who fit your shutters and blinds. That accountability is the foundation of our five year guarantee.
