What Is Duette?
More than just a pretty blind
Duette is the original honeycomb blind, invented by Hunter Douglas over 30 years ago. The name comes from the distinctive double layer of bonded polyester fabric that forms a honeycomb cell when viewed from the side. That cell traps a pocket of still air between you and the glass, creating a thermal barrier that no flat blind can match.
Unlike cheap pleated blinds that look similar at first glance, Duette fabric is engineered with precision. There are no cord holes punching through the material, so there are no pinpoints of light bleeding through when the blind is closed. The fabric is anti static, dust resistant, and available in translucent, light filtering, and room darkening options depending on what each room needs.
Every Duette blind we supply comes through the Luxaflex Gallery programme, which means it is manufactured by Hunter Douglas to exact specifications using their own fabrics and components. This is not a product you can buy online or from a high street chain. It is measured, ordered, and fitted by specialists. Honeycomb Technology
How Duette works
The secret is the honeycomb cell. Two layers of bonded polyester fabric are fused together to create a pocket of trapped air. This still air acts as an insulating barrier, the same principle used in double glazing. The result is a blind that keeps warmth in during winter and heat out during summer.
The standard Duette cell is a single pocket. For maximum insulation, the Architella range uses a cell within a cell design, creating two pockets of trapped air for even greater thermal performance. This double pocket construction is unique to Hunter Douglas and is not available from any other manufacturer.
Three cell sizes let you match the blind to the window. The 25mm cell is compact and neat for smaller windows. The 32mm cell is the most popular, offering an excellent balance of looks and performance. The 64mm cell provides maximum insulation for large expanses of glass where thermal performance is the priority.

The Duette range includes over 40 fabrics across multiple collections. From the premium Elan range with its rich textures and warm tones, through to classic translucent whites and soft neutrals, there is a fabric that works with any room.
Room darkening fabrics use an opaque backing bonded to the decorative face fabric. They block almost all light when closed, making them ideal for bedrooms. Translucent fabrics diffuse daylight beautifully, filling your room with soft, even illumination without glare or harsh shadows.
Hardware colours include white, anthracite grey, and silver grey, allowing you to match the blind components to your window frames for a seamless finish.

The Luxaflex TruFit system clips your Duette blind directly to the window frame with no screws, no drilling, and no damage. The blind moves with the sash, so you can open tilt and turn windows to ventilate while the blind stays perfectly in place.
TruFit works with Duette, Plissé, and selected roller blind ranges, and is fully compatible with PowerView motorisation. Ideal for conservatories, tilt and turn windows, and any room where a clean, seamless look matters.
