Modern Slavery Statement

Last updated: April 2026 · Reviewed annually each April

1. Statement

The Scottish Shutter Company (trading name of Rocknowe Interiors Limited) is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chain. While we are below the threshold that requires a statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we publish this statement voluntarily to demonstrate our commitment to ethical business practices and transparency.

2. Our business

We are a Scottish company specialising in window shutters, blinds, and shading solutions. We employ 9 people directly and operate across Scotland from our premises in Dundee and Edinburgh. Our team members are employed on fair, transparent terms with contracts, holiday entitlement, and pay that meets or exceeds the national living wage.

3. Our supply chain

Our products are sourced from established UK and international manufacturers. Our principal suppliers include:

  • UK-based shutter and blind manufacturers with their own modern slavery policies and compliance standards.
  • European manufacturers who operate under EU labour regulations.
  • International suppliers who manufacture in countries where we take additional care to understand their labour practices.

We do not use agencies to supply temporary labour and we do not subcontract our installation work to third parties.

4. Our approach

We take the following steps to assess and address modern slavery risk in our business and supply chain:

  • We build long-term relationships with our suppliers and review their labour practices as part of our annual supplier review process.
  • When engaging new suppliers, we consider their modern slavery policies, country of operation, and labour practices as part of our supplier selection.
  • We would not knowingly engage with any supplier that uses forced, bonded, or trafficked labour.
  • If we became aware of any modern slavery concerns within our supply chain, we would investigate immediately and take appropriate action, including terminating the supplier relationship if necessary.
  • All employees are encouraged to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices, whether within our business or in our supply chain.

5. Reporting concerns

Anyone who has concerns about modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chain should report them to David Browne or David D'Ambrosio. All reports will be taken seriously, investigated, and treated in confidence.

You can also contact the Modern Slavery Helpline on 08000 121 700 or at modernslaveryhelpline.org.

6. Review

This statement is reviewed annually each April. We will continue to develop our approach as our understanding of modern slavery risks evolves and as best practice develops.
